Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of refugee children and youth? Become a volunteer with TeamUp! Through sports, games, and physical activity, you’ll bring structure, fun, and support into the lives of children and youth. After a two-day training session, you’ll visit a refugee reception center (AZC) in your neighborhood every week alongside an enthusiastic team. Join us and make a difference!
TeamUp is a program by Save the Children and War Child that provides psychosocial support to children and young people through sports and games. TeamUp offers children a safe space where stress gives way to fun and where children learn to cope with emotions such as anger, fear, and sadness.
As a facilitator for TeamUp, you provide psychosocial support to refugee children and teenagers through sports, games, and physical activities. They learn to cope with their emotions in a playful manner, gain more confidence, and thus build a hopeful future. You will receive training and guidance beforehand. Afterward, you join an enthusiastic team of other volunteers to work at a shelter location near you.
Currently, there are approximately 165 active volunteers for TeamUp.
TeamUp is active in approximately 58 shelter centers across the entire country.
From 2015 until 2026, we reached more than 730.000 children worldwide with TeamUp.
We are urgently looking for volunteers in the emergency shelter location. We are also often looking for new volunteers at the regular shelter locations in the Netherlands.
